The Wine Show, London
Very belated posting … no broadband for 2 weeks (UK readers: don’t ever sign-up with Tiscali, I won’t even start the rant here …).
Exciting news: www.winetravelguides.com has taken a stand at The Wine Show at the Islington Business Design Centre in London. This consumer wine show takes place from this Thursday 25th – Sunday 28th October. All details of the show on www.wineshow.co.uk.
Thanks to a cancellation by an Ukrainian wine company (“for political reasons”) I have secured a large, well-placed stand at a knock-down price, though the add-on costs are huge for what is still a small business! It will be great to see what people think of Wine Travel Guides, face to face. My partner Brett will be helping me, with occasional other helpers. We will have plenty of handouts there as well as a laptop with large screen to take people through a power point presentation about the site (wi-fi is probably not possible).
We will be giving 50% off Gold subscriptions for anyone who signs up at the Show … other offers will be there too. I’m very quietly launching Gift subscriptions there – more noise about this later when they are live!
Other reasons to go to the show: a great range of wines to taste from large and small producers from around the world – one tip: to avoid the worst excesses of young English wine drinkers, I would avoid Friday evening and the latter part of Saturday if you can.
If you live in or close to London, I have 2 pairs of tickets for the show to give away – go onto www.winetravelguides.com and use the Contact form to claim them and I can post them or arrange to leave them on the door.
Hope to see you there. If you are reading this too late, or are much too far away from London to attend the show, don’t forget to subscribe to the Guides using the special offer code D1BLG07 and you will get a discount!
